Ryanair Expands Gdańsk Network with Four New International Routes

Gdańsk is about to become a significantly better-connected city. At a press conference on 15 July 2026, Ryanair confirmed it would station two additional aircraft at Gdańsk Airport, unlocking eight new routes in total from October 2026. Four of those routes had already been announced earlier: Madrid, Catania, Milan-Malpensa, and Budapest. The four routes revealed at the July 15 conference add fresh geographic range, reaching Portugal, England, northern Italy, and Morocco.

The Four New Routes at a Glance

According to details first reported by Gdansk Travel (via twocontinents.com), the new connections are:

  • Porto from 25 October, operating twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays
  • Liverpool from 26 October, operating twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays
  • Agadir from 28 October, operating twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays
  • Turin from 19 December, operating once weekly on Saturdays

The Porto route is particularly notable. A direct link between Gdańsk and Portugal has been long anticipated, and this connection finally delivers it. Liverpool fills a gap for travelers seeking a classic UK city-break option from northern Poland. Agadir reflects the growing appetite among Polish tourists for Moroccan sun destinations, a trend that has been building steadily. Turin, launching just before Christmas, opens up Piedmont for winter travelers interested in the Alps, the city's museums, and its food culture.

Context: A Bigger Gdańsk Expansion

These four routes are part of a broader commitment by Ryanair to grow its Gdańsk base. With two extra aircraft now confirmed, the airport's low-cost schedule for the winter 2026 season is considerably stronger than it was even a few weeks ago. The full set of eight new routes spans Western Europe, the UK, Southern Europe, and North Africa, giving Gdańsk one of its most diverse low-cost route maps to date.

For travelers based in the Tri-City area (Gdańsk, Gdynia, Sopot), this means more options for direct travel without routing through Warsaw. For inbound visitors, it means new source markets arriving directly into the region.

Why It Matters for Hosts

Independent accommodation operators in Gdańsk and the surrounding Pomerania region should take note of which markets these routes serve. Porto and Liverpool both have established cultures of independent travel, with guests who tend to book directly or through smaller platforms and who value authentic local experiences over chain hotels. Agadir and Turin represent newer inbound markets for the region. Hosts who update their listings and communications to include Portuguese, English, and Italian language options before October 2026 will be better positioned to convert first-time visitors from these cities. It is also worth monitoring whether demand spikes around the twice-weekly schedule days, since short-break travelers often plan tightly around flight availability.
