Gdańsk Joins Poland's Direct Gulf Connections This December
Gdańsk is about to become a lot easier to reach from the Arabian Peninsula. Air Arabia will begin non-stop service between Sharjah International Airport and Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport on 14 December 2026, operating five flights per week. The route makes Gdańsk the fourth Polish city the airline serves from Sharjah, alongside Warsaw Chopin, Kraków, and Katowice, the last of which is also launching in December.
What the Route Looks Like
Air Arabia operates Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft across its network, and the Sharjah-Gdańsk service fits within that fleet. Five weekly frequencies give travelers reasonable flexibility for both short breaks and longer stays without requiring a layover in a hub city. The airline's broader European network from Sharjah already includes cities such as Milan Bergamo, Munich, Vienna, Athens, Prague, London Gatwick, Rome, and Frankfurt, so passengers connecting onward from Gdańsk have options.
The Pomerania Angle
Gdańsk is the gateway to the Pomerania region and the Tri-City area, which also encompasses Gdynia and Sopot along the Baltic coast. Tomasz Kloskowski, President of the Management Board of Gdańsk Airport, was quoted by Gulf News saying the direct service is expected to support business cooperation, attract Middle Eastern investors to the region, and drive two-way tourism. He noted that previous experience showed visitors from Gulf countries generate significant value for the local tourism industry, and pointed to the region's cooler summers and Baltic Sea access as draws for travelers from the Gulf.
Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, described Gdańsk as part of the airline's continued expansion across Europe, framing the route as a way to connect Sharjah with key international destinations while offering what he called reliable and value-driven travel options.

Independent accommodation operators and experience providers in Gdańsk, Sopot, and Gdynia now have a concrete reason to think about Arabic-language hospitality touches, prayer-friendly room layouts, and halal dining referrals. Gulf travelers tend to visit in summer, which aligns well with Pomerania's peak season, but the five-times-weekly schedule running from December also opens a quieter winter window. Hosts who prepare informational materials about Baltic amber, the Old Town, and coastal excursions in Arabic, or who partner with local guides familiar with Gulf visitor preferences, will be better positioned to capture early reviews and repeat bookings before the route becomes crowded with competition.
