A Ukrainian Ride-Hailing App Now Runs Coaches to Warsaw

Uklon, the Kyiv-founded ride-hailing platform that now operates in 27 Ukrainian cities, is stepping beyond urban trips. Starting July 20, 2026, the company is running Uklon Travel Bus, a direct coach service linking Kyiv with Warsaw and Odesa with Chisinau. Tickets are sold through the Uklon mobile app and website.

The move builds on Uklon Travel, a ticket marketplace for third-party carriers that the company introduced in March 2026. The new bus service goes further: Uklon organises the routes directly, sets service quality standards, and handles passenger support, while partner carriers provide the vehicles. The result is a hybrid model that keeps Uklon in control of the customer experience without owning a fleet outright.

What the Warsaw Route Actually Offers

For travelers heading to the Polish capital, the service runs to Warsaw Chopin Airport, meaning passengers can connect onward without needing a separate city transfer. The coaches include Starlink internet connectivity and seat selection, and return-trip options are available. Because the service sits inside Uklon's existing app, a passenger can theoretically book a local ride to the Kyiv departure point and the long-distance coach in the same session.

Kyivstar CEO Oleksandr Komarov framed the expansion in terms of digital infrastructure: "Expanding access to mobility is essential to building the digital services ecosystem that Ukraine's people and economy deserve."

Uklon is owned by JSC Kyivstar, which was acquired in April 2025 and is part of the broader VEON Group. The company's footprint already extends to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, so the Warsaw and Chisinau routes represent its first moves into European intercity travel.

Context for the Warsaw Market

Warsaw has seen sustained demand from Ukrainian travelers and diaspora residents since 2022. A new direct coach service with airport delivery and onboard connectivity adds a meaningful option alongside existing rail and bus operators. The route's terminus at Chopin Airport rather than a city-centre bus station reflects a practical choice for passengers with onward flights, though it may be less convenient for those heading directly into central Warsaw neighborhoods.

The service launched with routes to two cities simultaneously, suggesting Uklon is testing appetite for the format rather than rolling out a single pilot cautiously.

Why It Matters for Hosts

Independent accommodation operators near Warsaw Chopin Airport or in districts popular with Ukrainian visitors now have a new arrival corridor to communicate to guests. If your property is a reasonable distance from the airport, it is worth updating your pre-arrival information to mention that direct coach connections from Kyiv exist, with onboard Wi-Fi and seat selection. Guests who previously faced complex multi-leg journeys may now arrive less fatigued and better oriented. Noting the Uklon app as a booking tool in your welcome materials could also reduce friction for guests already using it for local rides once they arrive.
