For the third consecutive year, Jimbaran Hub in Bali served as the gathering point for one of Southeast Asia's most distinctive music events. The Philippine contingent at this year's festival included city pop band ALYSON, alternative rock band Novocrane, alternative hip-hop collective PLAYERTWO, and rapper GEE EXCLSV. All four performed for international audiences across the festival's various stages, joining artists from across Asia and beyond.
AXEAN co-founder Piyapong Muenprasertdee, known as Py, described the atmosphere as one of genuine genre fluidity. "Someone might be moshing in a pit one minute and joining a dangdut ring dance the next," he noted, pointing to the kind of spontaneous cultural mixing the festival actively encourages.
Bali's Creative Communities Woven Into the Program
One notable development in 2026 was how the festival extended its footprint into Bali's broader creative scene before the main event. Through a local correspondent, AXEAN partnered with Craft Hotel, a hotel and art gallery in Ubud, and Amplitude, a skate park in Seminyak, to host pre-event panel discussions and live performances by Balinese artists. Py credited this community integration, alongside a stronger lineup of popular Indonesian artists, with attracting a larger local audience than in previous years.
That outward reach into Ubud and Seminyak suggests the festival is thinking about Bali not just as a venue but as an ecosystem worth activating across its distinct neighborhoods.
