Jakarta Becomes Southeast Asia's First Stop for Squid Game: The Experience
Jakarta is about to host the region's first edition of Squid Game: The Experience, the large-scale immersive attraction based on Netflix's globally popular Korean series. The attraction opens on 16 October 2026 at Agora Mall inside the Thamrin Nine complex in central Jakarta, giving Indonesian fans their first chance to step inside the show's iconic games without boarding a flight to New York, Seoul, or Tokyo.
What Visitors Can Expect
The attraction covers more than 1,900 square metres of indoor space divided into six themed rooms. Each room presents interactive challenges drawn from the series, supported by cinematic lighting and sound design. Beyond the games themselves, the venue includes dedicated photo spots, themed food and drinks, and exclusive merchandise.
Sessions run approximately 75 minutes, and the attraction operates daily from 10 AM to 10 PM Western Indonesia Time. The experience is designed around friendly group competition, making it suitable for families and friends. Visitors must be at least 13 years old to enter unaccompanied; those younger need an adult with them.
Tickets and Pricing
Standard tickets start at IDR 299,000, with pricing that varies by day and entry time. A VIP Experience add-on is available for an additional IDR 149,000 and includes access to a themed lounge, a complimentary series-inspired drink, exclusive collectibles, and discounts on selected merchandise and food and beverage items.
Individual tickets go on advance sale on 31 August at 10 AM WIB. Private group packages for corporate and organisational clients can be requested separately through the attraction's official website.
The Jakarta edition is designed and produced by Kingsmen Xperience and delivered locally by SideQuest Worlds. Genta Gitary, Chief Operating Officer of PT Vista Adhya Paragon (SideQuest Worlds), was quoted by Bandwagon as saying the advance ticket sales mark the moment fans have been waiting for to face the series' iconic games in person.
Jakarta follows a global circuit that has already included New York, Madrid, Seoul, London, Sydney, and Tokyo, according to details first reported by Bandwagon.
Why It Matters for Hosts
A ticketed, time-slotted attraction running daily from mid-October onward in central Jakarta is the kind of anchor event that drives multi-night stays. Independent hotels, guesthouses, and serviced apartments within reach of Thamrin Nine have a concrete reason to update their local-experience guides and reach out to corporate travel planners who may be organising group visits. Highlighting proximity to the venue in property listings, and preparing staff with basic information about session times and ticket logistics, can meaningfully improve the guest experience for visitors who have already booked tickets before they arrive. The attraction's minimum age of 13 also signals a family travel segment worth addressing in room-type and amenity communications.
